I just heard Colin Powell speak this morning in NYC. Among other things, he talked about reinforcement and telling people when good things happen. He described a time when he dashed off a note to someone who was managing a comm center -- said it was in good shape. When he went back to the comm center, it still looked good and the man had framed the note!

We all need to make the world better. You do it with your efficiency and concern and knowledge. We all also do it by making sure that people know when something goes well. I hate complaining and it's much more pleasant to praise.

You made my life significantly easier in completing a task I was dreading, and also waited to do until the very last moment, because I dreaded it.

I think I'll print your note so that I can also feel good when I need to.

When I bought the long term care policy I assumed that it was for when I was “old.” I NEVER thought I would be using it NOW!! Having the policy was a gift waiting to be opened...(After life saving surgery) I was able to hire someone to come into the house to take care of me (and the house)...for as long as I needed it...When I was able to get around but still couldn’t drive I was able to use the benefits to have someone take me back and forth for Cardiac Rehab...You told me taking out a policy for long term care would insure my future – I just never though that it would be so soon! Thanks!
